These create some confusion (or rather, horror) because they are called Dolphin in South Florida. These are the fastest growing fish in the ocean at about 2 lbs a month. Once they are able to spawn they do so every 2-3 days at a rate of 200,000 eggs per. Highly social, they are often found offshore in groups of 20+ hanging out around anything that’s floating. Summertime Dolphin fishing consists of trolling around open ocean looking for a floater, a frigate bird, or Sargassum weed lines. It may be slow but when you find them it’s absolute chaos. Winter and Spring have bigger fish coming closer to shore and getting caught on the kites. These fish are found the world over and are top tier eating.
